Writer/producer/director and WGA President John Wells talks about bringing the real-life experiences of
those suddenly confronted with un-employment in "The Company Men."

the finer points of his work after a
screening of "The Social Network,"

MFS Academy Awards Watching Party
The generous donations of more than $12,000 in raffle, silent auction and
Oscar prediction prizes enlivens the second annual community-wide Academy Awards watching party.


Our inaugural "Academy Screening" series included many of this year's top awards contenders, including the Best Picture ("The Hurt Locker"), Best Documentary ("The Cove"), and "Precious" (honored for Best Supporting Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay) -- films which otherwise wouldn't have been shown in Malibu.  And this year, we provided exclusive local screenings of "The King's Speech" (which won the Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Original Screenplay), The Social Network" (Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Score), "The Fighter" (Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress), and many other top contenders.
